The Figure 8 is one of the greatest knots of all. This is the figure 8 stoppper knot, used to prevent line from slipping through grommets, pulleys and the like. It's used in sailing, boating, climbing and ton of other applications. This is also the first part of a proper figure 8 knot for climbing. While not the most practical way to tie this knot, it looks kinda cool. We sail on the good ship Saracen, a Beneteau Oceanis 473 from 2006. Out journey started in Scotland in early 2023 and our ultimate goal is to sail around the globe …..slowly. We make these videos mostly for family and friends and to create a record of our adventures for ourselves so that we can look back at them later in life, were not in it to make money (way to hard).
