The Figure 8 is one of the greatest knots of all. This is the figure 8 stoppper knot, used to prevent line from slipping through grommets, pulleys and the like. It's used in sailing, boating, climbing and ton of other applications. This is also the first part of a proper figure 8 knot for climbing. While not the most practical way to tie this knot, it looks kinda cool. We fit two Renogy solar panels to the guard wires on our Hanse 411. This means they are side mounted. It's easy to do with fairly simple tools. this will add 200W of solar to our boat. We chose monocrystaline rigid panels as these have a high efficiency rating. They also come with waterproof connectors making them easy to wire in. #renogysolarpenals #sidemounted #sailingboat
