The Figure 8 is one of the greatest knots of all. This is the figure 8 stoppper knot, used to prevent line from slipping through grommets, pulleys and the like. It's used in sailing, boating, climbing and ton of other applications. This is also the first part of a proper figure 8 knot for climbing. While not the most practical way to tie this knot, it looks kinda cool. Sunshine and a steady 6 knots to 8 knots of breeze breeze greeted the competitors for Race 3 of Strangford Lough narrows regatta. GTR has some ground to make up after dropping back to mid fleet. With the angle free but not free enough to fly the spinnaker it was the perfect moment to deploy the Code Zero. With the both sails set and trimmed in GTR was doing two to one over its nearest rivals which allowed them to eat into the lead and eventually take the race win.
