She is licensed and insured for up to 6 guests with plenty of room to move around above and below deck. The roomy cockpit has cushions for comfort and a large awning for shade. There is a swim platform off the stern for ease getting in and out of the water. J109 Going to Red was in the presence of sailing royalty during the Harbour Race of Cork Week 2024. After rounding the harbour mark off the main city Going to red cross, the two time winner of the famous Fastnet race on a two sail reach across the harbour front. The finish to Race 3 of the annual Narrows Regatta on Strangford Lough was a quick reach to the finish after the breeze picked up and pivoted 180 degrees. It was next to impossible for the J109 GTR to match it with the VX1 Sports boats which blasted past on the way back to Portaferry. The chasing VX1 where having a tough time keeping their height as the pressure built so while they were a lot faster they ended up sailing greater distance which kept GTR in the race The J109 GTR could not compete in this race but went on to take the overall series win with a consistent performance across the weekend.
