Dann im Golfstrom nach Norden und schließlich bis New York City und wieder zurück nach Florida. Wir haben unsere geliebte Wanderling verkauft und ein neues Boot in Griechenland gefunden. Fast alles wird sich nun ändern. Wir sind durch unzählige Ups & Downs gegangen in diesem Jahr. Wie hat nur so viel Leben in 12 Monate gepasst?

Our #sailing adventure in #newyork was a unique and challenging experience. Aside from being a bustling #harbour with much marine traffic, the harbour is affected by tidal currents—two floods and two ebbs every day. Learning the current patterns to plan your sail into the harbour is essential, especially if you want to sail up the East River and into the Long Island Sound. YT-Episode 8 - It’s not all sunsets 🌅 and fair winds 🌬️ We were lucky enough to find the last place in a marina as a Mistral storm came down from France and across the Balearic Islands/Sardinia. 65 knots (74 mph) of wind was reported by those out at Sea. We saw 45 knots (51 mph) on the North East coast of Mallorca. Being moored up in a marina we were relatively comfortable and very thankful to have not been at anchor or on the water. We had 6 lines on, snapped one line and will probably have to replace a couple of others due to chaffing on the rusted bollards, but we are all safe and sound.
