The new BTC-22 Mark 2 is a British built performance trailer sailer which has been designed around the needs of single handed, family and racing sailers alike. Boasting a resin infused hull for a high degree of ‘stiffness’ at a low weight the BTC-22 also offers a powerful rig, a large open cockpit, coupled with a contemporary hull shape, long water line and twin rudders. So, the BTC-22 is sure to please the sporty sailor whether single handed or with a full racing crew. The deck plan uses modern high spec trimming systems, making for an efficient sailing experience with maximum enjoyment. There is plenty of storage above deck with two cockpit seat lockers and one large locker under the cockpit sole, big enough to take an outboard motor and lots besides. Two versions of this Buckley pocket cruiser are available – both the cruising version (BTC-22) and the performance version (BTS-22) have resin infused hulls and and are fitted with a lifting bulb keel but the superlight BTS-22 is made largely of carbon and boasts even more sail area. Both versions are compact and light enough to be trailerable. The BTC22 is a fun family boat too with plenty of room below deck. In the large airy cabin the BTC22 has 4 berths – one generous, 2 metre V berth and two giant settee berths measuring 2.5 metres each. Add a galley unit, a removable dining table and space below the V berth for a removable chemical toilet and you have all the components needed for comfortable overnight stays. This film was taken in light winds during a demonstration event at Rutland Water in the UK in July 2022. See more details here: https://boatsonwheels.com/boats/btc-22-with-trailer/

Ben van der Steen and Luca Spindler blasting around the Campo de Futbol waters in Tarifa. Both guys are using the Loftsails 2023 Racingblade, designed by the man himself Monty Spindler. Racingblade continues to spearhead evolution of the Loftsails racing program. Lightning acceleration, blistering speed, and rider control are what really count on the fin racing course. Previous seasons saw significant improvements to the core design through higher aspect-ratios, reshaped luff curves, and profile-depth adjustments. These changes improved acceleration, reduced rider fatigue, and made the sails feel lighter in the hands. 2023 development continued to focus on further improvement of these key design parameters. ► The 3D images we’d received had given us a good idea that the Tortue 147 wasn’t really going to look like a standard multihull... In the end, we were in for quite a surprise at La Grande-Motte! The catamaran on display, an ode to slow living, boasts a truly unique design and layout, with a nacelle reminiscent of a turtle shell, large stained-glass portholes, a suspended chart table seat, and a cabin layout reminiscent of a small mountain chalet. The same surprising atmosphere reigns at the after end of the boat, where a modest suspended balcony serves as a cockpit. We’re obviously impressed by the diamond-shaped windows integrated into the floor of the nacelle, and we are hardly surprised by the presence of a beautiful plant, whose pot was designed during the construction process. The build was undertaken in Tunisia using semi-thick aluminum for optimal impact resistance. The hull has two specific features: a bulbous bow is grafted onto each side to dampen pitching, and the stern is particularly sleek. Here again, the architects’ aim was to provide the most stable platform possible, including longitudinally. Two 1,200-liter (317-gallon) ballast tanks are also provided aft. Long keels and rudder skegs allow you to take the ground. The conventional internal combustion engine has been supplemented by an electric propulsion system capable of propelling the Tortue over a distance of 12 nautical miles and providing efficient hydrogeneration when the catamaran is making way under sail. ► TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS: Builder: Cataruga Material: 8 to 10 mm aluminum Length: 48’3” (14.7 m) Beam: 25’9” (7.85 m) Draft: 4’9” (1.45 m) Displacement: 37,500 lbs (17 t) Sail area: 1,076/1,507 sq ft (100/140 m²) Motors: 2 x 57 HP and 2 x 10 kW All-electric range: 2 hours at 6 knots ► Become a FREE SUBSCRIBER to Multihulls World's YouTube page now - https://www.youtube.com/c/MultihullsWorld ► Log on to our website to discover over 600 multihulls tests!
