Thank you to the SO's of Erik Andreaa and Capt Glenn Shephard, as well as Malvina for getting this amazing footage for us! When we were invited to race on a Volvo Ocean 70 for the Halicarnassus Cup in Turkiye, we knew we would be in for a day of adventure. What we did not expect was for the spinnaker to blow on us as we were cruising downwind at 15 knots! It's a good thing our crew jumped into action right away, and we were all able to work together ro get it under control.

Last Wednesday, I went down to our local harbor for a dawn paddle on my stand up paddleboard (SUP). Sunrise on a spring morning is a special time, and what better place to see it than from the water? I stuck my bow into coves that are too shallow to reach on a "real" boat, and skimmed along the marsh shoreline for a closeup of the osprey pair in their nest. (They watched my progress carefully, but didn't fly away.) S/V Karayato is a 2004 TRT 1200, for sale by owner. She is a Norwegian designed performance catamaran. This boat was modified at the yard by the previous owner to be more suitable as a liveaboard than the original TRT 1200 design. The bridge deck is lowered to make room for a spacious deck house with galley, a sofa that sits eight and a navigation station. The mast and rig is from 2013. The furling system, genoa and mainsail were bought new in 2019 and the jib is from 2022 . Karayato is quick, strong and a lot of fun to sail.
