How can you save fuel at sea? These tips work not only on the Absolute 56 Fly, but on any yacht. Set your liters per mile on the instrument, adjust your speed, and fine-tune flaps or interceptors to find the optimal fuel consumption. ⚡ This reduces engine strain and keeps your ride smooth. Try these adjustments at different speeds – sometimes going faster can actually lower fuel use! It all depends on your yacht and how your trim devices are set. Proper adjustment can even help you reach maximum speed efficiently. How do you manage fuel on your yacht? There was plenty of close racing in the 2023 Narrows series on Strangford Lough. With the breeze moderating after the Bar Buoy race was cancelled and Saturday's big blow things were a lot calmer in the back half of the regatta. J109 Going to Red slipped behind a Glenn that was beating to windward as they slid there way toward the mouth of the narrows in the final race of the series. The Glen class is one of Alfred Mylne classic designs, it is always great sight to see them gliding by you on as you race on Strangford lough. We are extremely luck to have over a dozen of them racing regularly out of Strangford Lough Yacht club (SLYC). The team at bottom up boats hope you are enjoying the sort bits of our close crosses from the 2023 season.
