Regardless if you call it a Chinese Gybe, Death Roll or Uncontrolled Gybe they can happen in a heart beat. One second you are cruising along and the next you are lying flat in the water with little or no ability to do anything about it. This Chinese Gybe was over in an instant, cost us the race, in reflection it taught us a lot about preventing it from happening again and how to recover better if it does happen again. The next Bestevaer 45ST PURE in line to be outfitted is called 'Mate'. Here she is being moved from our aluminium hall and prepared to be outfitted. This PURE will have a fixed keel, and is the first to have a steering wheel configuration instead of tiller. The arc on the stern is a custom option on request of the owner.
