מִכְנָסַיִים קְצָרִים לִיצוֹר

Watch the full episode here: https://youtu.be/iv1HjHyI9LU This week's episode is a bit of a mixed bag with some veryyyyy exciting progress! We start to do some of the first permanent installations of the floor, we get some of the cabinets for the cabins in to see how they are looking (spoiler alert its INCREDIBLE 🥹), we're plugging away at the wiring, and of course we can't resist a few fun cheeky projects like installing our light up speakers that will go quite nicely with our famous smoke machine parties 😂 Weeks like this at the yard are so satisfying because it's great to have so much visible progress and LOTS of wins in so many different areas...feels like we're getting closer and closer with each win! PACIFIC HIGH is a one-of-a kind, long range cruising cutter ketch built by Stuart Boat Works, Fl. drawn by Naval Architect Allen Ericson. Ted Hood + Hood Sailing Systems designed and built the spars, standing rigging and sail handling systems. PACIFIC HIGH was referred to as “Hood’s Electric Boat”. She was designed with all sail handling leading to her handsome, protected pilot house. With those systems she has been cruising and racing from the Adriatic to the Caribbean in comfort for years, often by a crew of two or even single handed. The designers and builder studied and understood the “watershed change” yacht design was going thru in the 80’s. Powerful, broad, flat sections in the hull carried well aft, result in low heal angles, yielding 8 to 10 knot speeds from PACIFIC HIGH’s 60’ waterline. Salona 45 raced by the Irish Defence Force in the Beaufort Cup beating up the shore to stay out of the tide shortly after the start of the Harbour Race of Cork Week 2024. With over 100 boats on the start line everyone was fighting for air shortly after the start, with the tide coming in all day it paid to get right early to find both clear air and some relief from the stronger tide out in the main channel. The team at Bottom Up Boats hope you like this short clip from our week of racing at Volvo Cork Week 2024
