Living on a sailboat, we come across the authorities far more often than you might expect! In the Mediterranean we experienced the Algerian and Croatian navy (Algerian was super stressful!!), and the Italian financial police, but Trinidad is the first time we've been stopped by the coast guard. It was late at night, around midnight, when we saw their blue flashing lights come at us as we motored through the First Bocas, returning to Trinidad after months sailing up and down the Caribbean island chain. We didn't expect to see Trinidad's coast guard, but it's nice to know they're out there. 👉 SUPPORT THE STORY TELLING ⛵ Gain access to our member only area: https://www.travelsketchsailing.com/join-in 😎 Tip jar: https://buy.stripe.com/6oE8A1d9Yabj4OA9AB After backpacking Asia, road tripping Europe and doing a bit of van life, we’re now exploring the world aboard our Leopard 45 catamaran. Mike Threadgill and I decided to sail RCSSC Soling "Time Flies" on Sunday 11 July 21 - Euro Cup Final day and agreed it would be good to explore the North leg of Rutland Water. We were gently sailing towards the end of the leg when we came across these really friendly folks also out for a sail.
