I set an alarm for the spring tide today. We drew a mark on the pylon. Look at how high the water is on the breakwater. Great day for sailing but we’ve got to go shopping first, before the supermarket’s people limit means we might have to cue. Actually, the communities respect for Covid management measures here is very good, something we appreciate very much. Our location on the pontoon helps keep us safe. 🙂
We’ve got the rudder hung temporarily to fit the new rudder post, and modify the old foot/shoe/base for the rudder. The big shelter tent is taken down and we are told the prop shaft and propeller will ship via air cargo tomorrow or the next day. Going live tonight from the wrangell, Alaska shipyard for a project status update.
Some of you might know that I bought a boat a few months ago. She’s a beautiful old timber fishing boat originally from Melbourne, build in 1979. I’ve started turning her into my dream home, the perfect little cosy liveaboard. It has been the most amazing adventure so far and I decided to share it online for anyone who is interested ⛵️ It’s been a challenging few months so far. Full of ups and downs, set backs and new jobs that weren’t even planned. But it has also been super rewarding to figure it all out on my own (and the help of some friends). I have no background in building or carpentry or no knowledge at all about electrical work and boats in general. So I have been learning so much and I can’t wait to set sail :) #sailingstormy
