► The Aventura 45 hull #1, launched in Bizerte, Tunisia, was delivered to her Owner in Denia, Spain... The new flagship catamaran then sailed to Cannes for her World Premiere. The replacement for the Aventura 44, still by Lasta Design, features a number of innovations, starting with the possibility of offering up to six cabins and four bathrooms thanks to companionways in the cockpit. In the four-cabin version, all berths lie athwartships. This modern catamaran also features a half-flybridge on the starboard side and a helm station at mid-height, ahead of which is the sail maneuvering station on the coachroof. ► Builder : Aventura Catamarans Architect: Lasta Design Length: 44’3” (13.5 m) Beam: 24’7” (7.5 m) Draft: 4’7” (1.4 m) Displacement: 26,455 lbs (12 t) Upwind sail area: 1,238 sq ft (115 m²) Engines: 2 x 45 or 57 HP ► Become a FREE SUBSCRIBER to Multihulls World's YouTube page now - https://www.youtube.com/c/MultihullsWorld ► Log on to our website to discover over 500 multihulls tests! Thirty hours into the 74th edition of the Rolex Sydney Hobart Yacht Race, the four 100-ft Maxis at the front of the fleet were separated by a mere five-nautical miles with a little under 200-nautical miles still to complete. A close contest between the race leaders has ensued ever since yesterday’s memorable Sydney Harbour start. Although the race record is unlikely to be challenged, an exciting finale down the Derwent River into Hobart is forecast. There had been four retirements and the majority of the 81-strong fleet were negotiating the Bass Strait. Rolex has been Title Sponsor of the 628-nm race, organised by the Cruising Yacht Club of Australia with the collaboration of the Royal Yacht Club of Tasmania, since 2002.
