Monaco dahling? I’d rather be sailing! In our latest episode, having sailed further east from Antibes, we waited for a weather window to cross back to Corsica and found ourselves in Monaco - known the world over as the playground of the rich and famous. We dipped our toes into this tiny but exclusive and expensive country and watched the weather. Instead of the hoped for northerlies to blow us across to Corsica, the forecast grew into a far reaching mistral and the marina had no space for us to stay! After finding what we hoped would be a protected anchorage we crossed our fingers…. This is the 🥨 Ground-Line Hitch which is more secure than the Clove Hitch. It's a great knot for tying fenders to guardrails. Fenders are expensive, so more secure is good! 🔸 Wind the rope around the rail and cross over diagonally. Come back around the rail again, pass across diagonally again and tuck into the first loop. 🔸 It's pretty easy when you get the hang of it. Last night I bumped into somebody who regularly watches the “Yachts For Sale” YouTube channel. “What was that beautiful yacht you filmed recently?” he asked, “the one with the blue hull?” “You must be talking about MERELEY I” I replied…and in fact that was exactly the yacht he was referring to! HOT LAB did a fantastic job of both the exterior and the interior design of this yacht, and AES did an equally superb job of putting the vessel together. I have no doubt that my friend Deniz Kaymaz together with ​Northrop & Johnson will find a buyer for her soon 😁
