Competent Crew Course details: ➜ https://www.firstclasssailing.com/rya-courses/competent-crew In this short clip you see us out on the Solent during a RYA Competent Crew Course (sailing from Southampton). We sail out of the hove to position by centring the helm and allowing the wind, which was on our port side, to come around the stern of the boat, onto our starboard side. This is known as gybing: taking the stern of the boat through the wind. ** About the RYA Competent Crew course in Southampton ** The RYA Competent Crew course is the perfect introduction for beginners who want to get into sailing and is specifically designed for those with little to no sailing experience. Met een goed regenjasje van HH over je midlayer jacket aan en dan speciale industriële rubber werkhandschoenen ben je warm en droog. En met deze handschoenen kan je ook je B&G plotter touchscreen bedienen. #BandG #regen #hellyhansen #Zeus3 #rotweer #hanseyachts #xclusivesailing

I spent a couple hours looking for some fish to shoot and visibility was really poor but I was lucky enough to find some small neck clams, bagged a few and took them back to my boat to try them. I put a little secret sauce on them, which was Tabasco, lime, fresh garlic and soy sauce. You can see it dripping down my neck! This was the very first time I have ever tried raw clams.

To maximise our time in the air we opted for a carefully timed run from Bankstown Airport which worked to perfection! Unfortunately our flight was somewhat curtailed after an early recall due to thunderstorm activity in the area of Bankstown Airport. What a different take on the race this year, with an east sou'easterly breeze scattering the fleet to all corners as soon as they left the harbour. More to come over the next few days.

Top Cruiser Tip: Secure your dinghy against thieves. Make sure to have a large, think chain and attach it to something solid like a metal cleat or around a post. By just having a thick chain, your dinghy will look more difficult to steal than others. Get more tips on securing your dinghy here: https://smpl.is/7qukv #sailingexperience
