SKIPPER LARGE POWER COURSE (4.9/5 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️) : https://www.nauticed.org/powerboating-courses/view/skipper-large-power-boat When the wind is blowing you downwind to an end tie dock on your port side and when you have a standard right-hand-screw propeller or twin screws, you can use this very simple technique. Simply go past the slip and back the boat in taking advantage of propwalk (for single engines) to angle your stern in or use a small short amount of dock side engine in forward to angle your stern to the dock. Tie a stern dockline aft onto the dock. This and other powerboat docking and training is available in NauticEd's Skipper Large Powerboat Online Course at: https://www.nauticed.org/powerboating-courses/view/skipper-large-power-boat #boating #powerboating #education #howto #docking

After catching the fish, Ira (ee-ra) wasn't interested in filleting it, so I did that part. I had her at least take out the remains and throw them in the water to bring her into the process a bit. Maybe next time she'll do the filleting as well.

The Fishermans Knot is a simple but effective way to join two lengths of rope together. The knot is more secure than a sheet bend under light load as you can tighten the overhand knots around the main lines which prevent the knot from coming undone before load is put on the lines. The Fishermans knot is preferred to tying a sheet bend when the rope diameters are the same. If you are going to have constant high levels of load on the joined lines the Fishermans Knot will become hard to untie, if you are join ropes which will stay under constant load are Sheet Bend will work better. Learning how to tie a fisherman knot is easy, most people already know how to tie a overhand knot, the Fishermans knot is tied by combining two overhand knots. Click the link below to learn how to tie a overhand knot. https://youtu.be/5z3BR2vCTcc Some sailing use cases for the Fishermans Knot include :- * Joining Jib sheets together to make them continuous * Joining Spinnaker sheets together to make them continuous. * Joining rope that have broken together in an emergency * Making a short rope longer Thanks for visiting the Bottom Up Boats channel, we hope you enjoyed this short video and you learnt a new skill that will help you with your cruising or racing.
