► A not-to-be-missed event for boating enthusiasts on the U.S. East Coast, the Annapolis Boat Shows attract some 100,000 visitors every year. The event is in fact two separate boat shows held in the same spot, but a week apart. The Powerboat Show, dedicated just to powerboats (417 units on display), was held from October 3 to 6, followed by the Sailboat Show from October 10 to 14. It’s the latter of the two that we’ve selected for you. The event provided an opportunity to take stock of how the multihull sector is taking hold in the United States: we counted 56 two- or three-hull units compared with 96 monohulls, totaling nearly 30% of the offer. Nel tentativo di entrare nel porto turistico di Catanzaro Lido la barca a vela Meridian Chaser, battente bandiera canadese, si distrugge sugli scogli del molo . La causa si puo ascrivere a diverse circostanze contrarie quali il poco fondale, la risacca , il forte vento di scirocco che rendeva pericolosissimo l'avvicinamento e principalmente ad una cima impigliata nell'asse dell'elica. Infatti in altri filmati si vede la barca procedere con il motore fuoribordo ,solitamente in uso al tender, acceso ma poco funzionale. Risultato un disperso , per altro conosciuto in loco, dove aveva sostato tempo addietro in transito con una barca diversa. Tempestivo l'arrivo di carabinieri e vigili del fuoco.
