Hi there, Thought I’d send you the video of the microburst over Banana Bay in Golfito on March 10. Fingers broke away. We abandoned our finger and used every line on the boat to tie to the pilings. That’s my Daughter greeting me at the boat, sure that we lost the boat. Poor girl. Just a few scratches and frayed nerves. 3 days later they almost had things put back together. Out at the anchorage one of the boats that didn’t drag anchor clocked 71 knots for a moment. HIGHEST WIND RECORDED AWARD ENTRY https://oceanposse.com

With over 100 boats on the start line everyone was fighting for air shortly after the start, with the tide coming in all day it paid to get right early to find both clear air and some relief from the stronger tide out in the main channel. On the way back in the trick was to find the deepest part of the channel to ensure you were in maximum tide to increase your speed over ground. Things were still tight as we made it down to the Harbour Turning mark off Cork City. A checky 1720 slide inside one of our competitors when the did not have room which gave us few more seconds back from Control-J as we battled to move up the standings on Day 3 of Volvo Cork week 2024 The team at Bottom Up Boats hope you like this short clip from our week of racing at Volvo Cork Week 2024
