VİRA Ailesi Üye Buluşması'nda Bir Araya Geldi! Vira Kayıkhane'nin eşsiz ortamında gerçekleştirdiğimiz VİRA Üye Buluşması ve Sertifika Töreni bu yıl 2 Haziran akşamı 500'ü aşkın misafirimizin katılımı ile gerçekleşti. Yelken ve kürek eğitimi alan kursiyerlerimiz, Delphia Yachts Sahipleri ve SAIL BREAK katılımcılarımız ile gerçekleştirdiğimiz etkinlikte yelken ve kürek camiasından da pek çok misafirimiz yer aldı. Üyelerimizin yelken ve kürek gece seyri yapma şansı bulduğu etkinlikte; "What The Band" grubunun akustik performansı, Caffe Nero, Redbull, Yörükoğlu, Danone'nin ikramları ve Yves Rocher'in süpriz hediyeleri ise geceye renk kattı... Etkinlik süresince; Türk Eğitim Vakfı ile birlikte yürüttüğümüz "Umuda Yelken Aç" ve "Umuda Kürek Çek" kampanyası ile üyelerimiz TEV'e bağış yaparak başarılı öğrencilerin eğitim giderlerinin karşılanmasına da destek oldular. Day 3 at the North Sound @MaxiRegatta introduced something new: Triple Head Sunday, a time trial-style race where each team picked their perfect moment to send it down a 1.4-mile reaching course. With the pressure on to go as fast as possible, strategy and timing were everything. North Sails-powered Balthasar came out on top on corrected time. “That was a nice bonus,” said North Sails expert and project manager Bouwe Bekking. But beyond the result, it was the unique format and full-team effort that made the day memorable. “It was a big day for us,” said Bekking. “We had the owner's wives and friends onboard, which was really special. I’d say they were our lucky charm. We nailed the timing, had good pressure in the first run, and got our triple-head configuration dialed in.” Sailing at 20–22 knots with three headsails flying—a jib, genoa staysail, and a smaller sail on the bowsprit—Balthasar showed what the team (and the sails) could do when everything clicks. Triple Head Sunday delivered exactly what this week is all about: good breeze, clever racing formats, and a whole lot of fun—on and off the water. Cardio at 70+? You bet. Onboard Wahine, I naturally get upper body workouts, just by doing what I have to do. However, cardio and leg workouts are not as significant. So, now that my foldable bike is fixed, I’m riding the hills around Buren Bay, with Wahine moored just behind me. Life on a boat doesn’t offer much cardio, especially in the summer heat, so I’m glad to be sweating again (yes, even in Japan's humidity!). As my doctor once said: “If you’re sweating, you’re winning.” That’s the goal today, and most days. Never too late to move. Never too late to sweat.
