Si observas cualquier óxido en los cables y sobre todo en los terminales, debes sustituirlo en seguida, ya que es muy probable que estos rompan con el consiguiente desarbolado del palo. Revisa muy a menudo tu jarcia. Así mismo, es muy importante llevar bien la tensión de la jarcia. Una jarcia demasiado tensa o demasiado floja puede desembocar también en una rotura de la jarcia con la posterior rotura del mástil
