Almost a total rebuild and restoration and thoroughly modern systems make SWANILDA a very usable classic. Indeed, following her 2010-2012 reconstruction her design and condition now should allow ocean passages as well as summer #cruises and #classic races. A recent topsides repaint and mast and spars refinishing at Elephant #boatyard leaves this very English lady looking very smart. Given the treatment she has received, SWANILDA is undoubtedly very reasonably priced. https://www.sandemanyachtcompany.co.uk/yacht/122/ca-nicholson-42-ft-bermudian-sloop-19602012
The cockpit is where we spend most of our time while sailing. It’s not just where we navigate Vela, but also a space for dining, working, and planning our next adventure. 🗺 Why a center cockpit, you ask? 🔹 It’s closer to the mast, giving us more stability at sea. 🔹 Enclosed protection keeps us safe and dry in bad weather. 🌧 🔹 Perfect for long-term cruising—though it’s a bit smaller than an aft cockpit, it’s a trade-off we’re happy to make. This winter, we’re upgrading the enclosure for better visibility while docking—ready for new adventures at anchor. 🌅 What do you think? Would you choose a center cockpit or an aft cockpit for your dream sailboat? ⛵ 🎵 Music by Sergio Prosvirini from Pixabay #YouTubeShorts #Explore #TravelVlog #Vloggers #DailyLife #ChristmasCalendar #Vlogmas #ChristmasOnBoard #Beneteau44cc #Sailing #Liveaboard #LifeAtSea
There’s something about being out at sea that quiets everything else. 🌊 No noise, no rush—just wind in the sails and the rhythm of the water beneath you. Out here, time feels different. Slower. Softer. You start to notice the little things—the way the light dances on the waves, the steady pull of the tide, the feeling of being both small and completely free at the same time. It’s not just a journey across water… it’s a moment to breathe, to reflect, to just be. Sometimes, the sea doesn’t just take you somewhere new—it brings you back to yourself.
