As long as the vane can pivot freely, the dinghy can rest up on the Hydrovane drive unit or shaft. The line running forward is the remote course adjustment line. Looks like a smooth ride!

The replacement for the A44, officially launched at Cannes back in September, is still by Lasta Design but has much more modern lines than its predecessor with its inverted bows, large hull portholes and coachroof well integrated into the overall silhouette. Inside and on deck, the 45 presents numerous innovations, starting with the possibility of offering up to six cabins and four bathrooms thanks to companionways from the cockpit. In the four-cabin version, all the berths are installed athwartships. I had to depart from my alongside dock in Palaia Epidaurus Greece and my friend Nikos was alongside to me with anchor ⚓ and stern lines. Instead of getting his boat out we decided to open his bow and let Oceania go through. All the other sailors wasn't sure about that maneuver but since Nikos was very experienced we knew exactly what to do and we did it! Slack starboard stern line, drop chain, forward to port stern line and with a little help from the bow thruster we open just enough so the crossing wind wasn't about to push OCEANIA to the boat behind us and SUCCESS!! Good seamanship means to care more about others in the sea than you care about your self!
