The Green Island Living Classroom, a curriculum based educational program and facility launched last year by Great Adventures, is proving to be a resounding success in showcasing education on the Great Barrier Reef. With island, reef and rainforest together, along with a dedicated classroom facility and led by Quicksilver Group marine biologists, the Green Island Living Classroom has been praised by teachers as providing place-based education at its best.

3 days to go. 😳 Another full day of getting Showgirl ready. Lazy jacks sorted, rigging checked, EcoMax checked, Hydrovane rudders painted, glow plug switch fixed… slowly but surely, we’re ticking things off the list. And I definitely wouldn’t be getting through this final stretch without all the friends who keep showing up, picking up tools and asking, “Okay, what’s next?” ❤️ Special shoutout to @roamingreef for jumping into the chaos and helping us get Showgirl ready. And after another day of work, we finished with dinner with all the skippers. Three days from now, we’ll all be heading out there alone. During our time in Trinidad we spent a weekend at Chacachacare aboard a HUGE catamaran, kindly hosted by HQ2 Charters. One of the highlights was a Trinidadian catch and cook crabbing experience with our Trini mate Neil, who cooked a Tobago Crab Curry inspired recipe that was accidentally missing a few ingredients - you can blame the Stag and rum! It was also our first introduction to Trinidad's Moruga scorpion pepper - that stuff is a spicy flavour bomb in your mouth!
