Yep… we literally cut the back off our aluminum sailing catamaran 😅 As part of our major refit, we extended the sugarscoops — rebuilding the sterns completely from 4mm 5083 aluminum. The flat sheets were then pressed for the perfect shape, and welded back on — inside MIG welded and outside TIG welded. We couldn’t be happier with how they turned out! With much care and attention, the hull of the Stadtship 56 was turned. This is always a special moment for both us and the owners. It remains a beautiful sight to see the huge aluminium construction dangling in just a few slings and being carefully turned over.
