In ambito nautico, sono i pilastri verticali fissati lungo il bordo di una nave o di un’imbarcazione. Servono a supportare le draglie e a garantire sicurezza, evitando cadute in mare. Un vero baluardo tra te e le onde! 📏 Draglie: Le Linee della Vita 📏 Le draglie sono le corde o i cavi tesi tra i candelabri. Fungono da barriera di protezione per chi si avventura vicino al bordo dell’imbarcazione. Una sorta di ringhiera morbida che, in caso di mare mosso, diventa il tuo migliore alleato per non finire a bagno! 🚢 Battagliola: Il Parapetto del Marinaio 🚢 La battagliola è la struttura fissa o rimovibile che si erge sul bordo dell’imbarcazione, sopra i candelabri, offrendo un ancor più solido punto di appoggio e protezione. È l’ultima difesa contro gli scherzi del mare, combinando sicurezza e stile. Questi elementi sono fondamentali per la sicurezza a bordo e per mantenere tutti saldi e sicuri durante la navigazione. This Competent Crew course is ideal if you have none or little sailing experience. You will become a valuable crew member and an asset onboard any yacht you sail on. You will sleeping and eat on board (Apart from the odd evening meal out in a pub or restaurant if you choose!) you will learn lots about sailing, life on board, and how fun it is. You will stay at a different marina or anchorage or harbour each night. The course is best taken over 5 consecutive days or over 2 weekends (a short and a long). The learning involved includes but is not limited to: Knowledge of sea terms and parts of a boat Rigging and sails Sail handling Ropework and knots Fire precautions and fighting Personal safety equipment Man overboard procedure Emergency equipment Meteorology Seasickness Helmanship Etiquette You will have a qualified and friendly instructor to teach you everything you need to know. You’ll meet like-minded people. There’s a good chance you’ll leave with new friends alongside your new sailing skills. There’s also delicious fresh food and fresh sea air to match. Each day is action-packed. We enjoy breakfast at around 8am or earlier, and you’ll normally be in a marina for a hot shower by 6pm. Supper on board (unless you want to eat ashore) and then if time a trip to the pub. We tailor each course depending on the wind, tide, and your preferences. Some nights we’ll drop anchor, and others we’ll tie onto a buoy. We will also go for an evening sail to try out sailing in the dark, which is great fun!
