You may recognise the monastery of Holy Trinity as it was used in the James Bond movie ‘For your eyes only’ Roger Moore scales the cliff face. Out of all the monasteries of Meteora Holy Trinity has the most dramatic location, the rock face is a sheer drop and the rock itself is a lot more slender. Today way a day of sitting in the sunshine and splicing ropes for a new bridal on my mooring. My hands are sore but the ropes are done and they look pretty good! Today you can buy dock lines and anchor lines with an eye already spliced into one end, but this is more expensive than buying the same line off a spool. It also forces you to buy your line in one of the available lengths. Putting in your own eye splice can be a better option. A splice you put in yourself will be just as strong as one done by a professional rigger, and splicing an eye into three-strand rope is really very easy.
