EXPLORE Alor Diving with Vaiatea Liveaboard Never has 'off the beaten track' been more appropriate than about a liveaboard around Alor. Located between Flores and the Sawoe Sea and comprised of 20 islands, the Alor archipelago is located in the Coral Triangle. It is home to some of the most varied diving you will encounter in a single location - with over 50 dive spots stretching from Alor Island to Pantar Island. Best known for spectacular coral and muck diving, spot multicolor macro critters in volcanic sands, sharks, sea snakes over healthy coral reefs, and anything in between - with scalloped hammerheads on our secret spots. Pantar Strait houses some of the best dive sites in Alor. Blue whales migrate through the area at certain times of the year and can be seen with pilot whales and schools of dolphins. With some powerful currents, the diving in Alor is more suited to experienced divers. J109 "Going to Red" beating to windward had a fine line to thread the gap between Cape 31 Shootgun and the Corbt 37 Impetuous on day two of racing of Cork Week 2024. Race 6 ended up being the trickiest race of the day with the wind getting light and variable towards the top mark before a 30 degree shift on the last beat turned the race on it head. The race committee did a good job to finish the IRC 1 boats at the top mark to limit the damage from the variable winds. The team at Bottom Up Boats hope you like this short clip from our week of racing at Volvo Cork Week 2024
