WindFoiling shares many of the fundamental foiling principals with other foiling classes and is the sport of riding a windsurf board with a hydrofoil attached to it. WindFoiling allows a windsurfer to sail with their board above the water by riding the foil which remains submerged beneath the surface. It might seem like WindFoiling, and Windsurfing are similar. They both rely on wind in their sails to get moving, and much of the equipment can be used for either sport. The skills acquired through windsurfing are transferable to WindFoiling, so it is important a sailor develops these basic skills first, if they wish to pursue a WindFoiling pathway.

The wind disappeared. Which means… I’m now on full-time steering duty. The next 48 hours will basically be me glued to the helm, trying to keep us moving in the right direction all the way to Sint Maarten. Not exactly the most exciting part of the crossing. Just slow progress, small adjustments, and a lot of time behind the wheel. I’m also so tired at this point that I’ve started mixing the days together… I was fully convinced today was day 32. It’s day 33. That’s where we’re at 😅 Anyway, this is probably what the end of the crossing will look like. Ed è così che guardando le immagini di oggi rimane un alone di riflessione su chi viene e su chi va e di come la vita non necessiti di attaccamenti, ma di lasciare che le cose fluiscano. After a rough 4 day crossing from Australia to Papua New Guinea we realise one of our water tanks has broken and spilt a third of our drinking water to the bilge.
