Day 2. Today was a rough one. I’ve been feeling really sick, and everything I did felt like a huge effort. Even small things would completely drain me, so I ended up spending a lot of time just lying down in between the sail changes I needed to do. The first half of the day especially just knocked me out. Not ideal when your partner is seasick in addition and not really able to help either… but here we are, still getting through it. Luckily the weather has been pretty calm, which made a big difference. At least we didn’t have to deal with anything too demanding on top of everything else. But we both know there’s stronger weather coming. Sunshine and a steady 8 knots to 10 knots of breeze breeze greeted the competitors for the annual Bar Bouy race out of the Strangford Lough narrows and back again GTR worked to leeward of it main competitors before breaking out into the stronger current with around 20 seconds to go. After going putting a couple of boats on port under pressure the rounded up to hit the line with speed in addition to being in the strongest current.
