Full article to discover in Multihulls World N°203. Our senior reporter Brieuc Maisonneuve has joined the crew of the ORC 57 Avel Vaez: “I’m here with a diverse but extremely motivated team, determined to get the most out of this high-performance catamaran designed to swallow up the miles.” The Aegean 600 is now in its fifth edition. This non-stop, 605-nautical-mile race takes place in the heart of the Cyclades islands in Greece. Starting from the legendary Cape Sounion, the 59 crews (including eight aboard multihulls) have no fewer than 13 islands to round ahead of them... “A sumptuous and demanding course, with gusty areas and unexpected lulls, steep cliffs and turquoise waters.” Of course, it’s the weather that dictates the pace: this year, the crew of Allegra, the fastest 86-foot catamaran in the fleet, are going to need nearly four days to complete the course – compared to last year’s record of one day, 13 hours, 18 minutes, and 52 seconds. ► Become a FREE SUBSCRIBER to Multihulls World's YouTube page now - https://www.youtube.com/c/MultihullsWorld ► Log on to our website to discover over 600 multihulls tests!
