This is your chance 👀 Our Boatbuilding Experience Days are hands-on, immersive, and seriously good fun. ✨ What you’ll get stuck into: Steam bending oak to create a bent timber ring Fastening with traditional copper nail and rove Making a mobile phone stand using dovetail joinery Trying your hand at caulking Learning some classic knots and making a keyring to take home Plus… a guided tour of our boatyard! 🕤 Time: 09:30 – approx. 16:30 🍽 Lunch: Fish & chips provided (vegetarian/vegan options available) ☕ Tea & coffee available all day 👥 Who’s it for? We are celebrating two massive milestones this weekend! Not only is it Memorial Day weekend, but it’s officially our 3-year anniversary as a sailing couple. To celebrate, we traded our usual dock for the historic, resilient shores of Galveston Beach, Texas. In this episode, we’re remembering the roots of the island and the holiday. From the solemn Civil War origins of Memorial Day to the Galveston Historic Pleasure Pier, this island is a monument to the human spirit. Of course, no trip to the coast is complete without savoring the lifestyle. We’re taking you along to our favorite local seafood grills right on the Seawall to enjoy some fresh Gulf catch, talk about what it really is like to slow down and enjoy the present by chasing your own version of "nirvana."
