With the ever-increasing explosion of foiling into the sailing community Australian Sailing is working to develop programs and resources to support sailors and clubs to get involved in this new and exciting space. One of the first initiatives is the development of FOIL-LABs which are day long introductory sessions allowing participants to experience and learn about foiling. FOIL-LABs provide a safe space for sailors to learn and interact with a new type of sailing experience and equip themselves with new knowledge to take on foiling classes. Sailors will learn the fundamentals that drive a hydrofoils performance, as well learn about the body and physical relationships that offer a path to mastery. Mastering the basics gives more options to have more fun, more often. It also allows sailors to chase performance in a range of modern performance sailing classes in a fun and fulfilling way. Australian Sailing is pleased to be able to offer a number of Foil Labs across the country. Contact your Australian Sailing State General Manager to express interest and find out more!
BSG Development’s Sailcom program allows customers, salesmen and designers to view proposed new sails in the beginning of the purchasing process. The Sailcom program takes measurements of your boat and rig so that the proposed sail can be displayed in place. This insures proper fit, informed conversations and guaranteed measurements that transfer without error to the BSG sail design program. The detailed 3D rendering not only shows sail shape, but it also shows the appearance of the proposed sail based on the construction method and materials quoted. So ask your UK salesman for a sneak peak at your next new sail before for any cloth gets cut. This video shows a fractional code zero for a Marten 49.
