Day 2 on our Atlantic Crossing. We had very relaxed conditions and were able to unpack our spinnaker again. It's really impressive, especially when there are also some dolphins around 🌊 And we were also rewarded with a bonito, which we used straight away as sushi. Delicious 😋 And it was even so relaxed that we were able to play games. Today way a day of sitting in the sunshine and splicing ropes for a new bridal on my mooring. My hands are sore but the ropes are done and they look pretty good! Today you can buy dock lines and anchor lines with an eye already spliced into one end, but this is more expensive than buying the same line off a spool. It also forces you to buy your line in one of the available lengths. Putting in your own eye splice can be a better option. A splice you put in yourself will be just as strong as one done by a professional rigger, and splicing an eye into three-strand rope is really very easy.
