Stamane sono arrivata con la mia barca a vela Maneki all'isola piu' piccola dell'arcipelago delle Canarie, la Graciosa. E' separata da Lanzarote solo da qualche miglia, ma e' completamente differente, la sua sabbia e' dorata e i coni vulcanici variopinti. C'e' un unico ancoraggio, playa Francesa e un'unica marima, Caleta de Sebo. Il resto e' riserva marina. non ci sono strade asfaltate e la si percorre in bicicletta in un giorno. Ma durante il weekend e' affollata di turisti che arrivano dalla vicina Lanzarote.

Running our Volvo Penta MD 19 engine for the first time with water connected. We took the engine apart completely and renovated/changed the components. The starboard start looked like it would be a golden until it got light under the dock making it difficult to roll into a tack, leaving the door wide open for a late starter on port to race out to the right before rolling into a tack perfectly on the lay line. The speed on the way to the top mark was impressive and gave them a big lead at the first mark. The team at bottom up boats love sailboat racing of all shapes and sizes, I loved taking this footage and spending a few minutes on the dock talking to some life long sailors who now enjoy racing from the peer long past the days that their sea legs have deserted them.
