Sometimes when you raise the sails, the battens get hung up on the lazy jacks. Sometimes they free themselves, sometimes, and you can drop the sail and try again. But sometimes, they have to be wiggled free manually, which is what Brent just did. Once they are free and clear of the lazy jack lines, we raise the sail again and the wind is now carrying our floating home to another island! Want the full adventure? Trip to the Atlantic Highlands in New Jersey in serious fog. In order to get there, I had to cross New York Harbor. With less than 100m of visibility, not a fun undertaking. There were approximately 20 large vessels all moving at different speeds and heading into the harbor. I never saw one. Without radar it would have been extremely dangerous.
