Step 3 โ Guide your dog to the mat Every single time. Keep your cue consistent: โgo pottyโ. Step 4 โ Reward immediately Praise during, treat right after. This is where the magic happens. Step 5 โ Add a scent marker Put a tiny bit of your dogโs own pee on the mat the first days. It helps a lot. Step 6 โ Build a routine Take your dog to the mat after sleep, food, play, and excitement.
