This boat is perfectly named as “Simplicity” is what the Canadian built Nonsuch is all about: one sail, one sheet, one halyard. We are thrilled to have a beautiful 30′ example on our Sales Dock as they very rarely come to market! Designed by Mark Ellis, Canadian Boating magazine sums up this cat-rigged vessel as ” being able to be sailed by 1 person who has no desire to leave the comfort of the cockpit”. But don’t let this description mislead you as there is tons of room inside and out for crew and guests. Topsides the large Main is easily handled hoisting via electric winch and lazy jacks make light work of folding the sail at the end of the day. All lines lead aft with self-tailing winches and the large cockpit is protected by a dodger and bimini. Anchoring is made easy by the Lewmar electric windlass and this vessel comes complete with davits for easy launching and recovery of a dinghy. Down below, the rig design creates an extremely open cabin space that feels much larger than her 30′ LOA. Entering the cabin you find a large comfortable seating area, galley with fridge/freezer, lots of storage, 2 burner stove and oven and pressurized hot and cold water. Moving forward, the large head (with separate shower stall that can also be used as a wet locker) can be accessed either through the main cabin or by the forward master cabin with large pullman style berth and opening hatches and ports for ventilation throughout the vessel. Het doel van deze liveaboard is zeer specifiek de combinatie van manta's (mobula en oceanic) in Addu en vooral Tijgerhaaien in Fuvamulah! Niet zelden worden er meer dan 10 Tijgerhaaien op 1 duik gespot! Uniek in de wereld!!! We blijven 2 dagen in Fuvamulah en maken 4 duiken op TigerZoo (2 per dag), dé plek bij uitstek waar de Tijgerhaaien worden gespot. We doen dat onder deskundige leiding van duikgidsen van het eiland zelf die een uitgebreide kennis en ervaring hebben met de plaats en het gedrag van de haaien. Als derde duik van de dag maken we nog een duik op het Zuidplateau, waar afhankelijk van de stromingen alles mogelijk is (van Hamerhaaien, Walvishaaien en Voshaaien tot Tijgerhaaien), en het Noordplateau met prachtig en intacte koralen. De trip start en eindigt in Addu, het Zuidelijkste punt van de Malediven, vlak bij de evenaar. Het Addu Manta Point is hier het absolute hoogtepunt. Het cleaning station is gelegen op zo'n 20m diepte en de sterke stroming creëert de perfecte omgeving tot prachtige manta-duiken. Het prachtige outer reef van Addu geeft uit op de open oceaan en vaak worden hier Oceanic mantas waargenomen. Tenslotte is het wrak "British Loyalty" een fascinerende duik. De olietanker werd in 1944 getorpedeerd door een Duitse onderzeeër en ligt binnen het atol. Zichtbaarheid is daardoor doorgaans minder goed, maar het wrak is wel prachtig begroeid met softkoralen, en is een thuis voor heel wat klein leven als naaktslakken, en ghost pipefish. Er leeft ook een gezonde hoeveelheid rifvissen, trevally's en schildpadden. www.wildwater.be
