An explosion of brokerage activity in late 2020 resulted in December becoming the second strongest single month for brokerage sales since 2009. The brief easing of coronavirus restrictions seen in the latter half of 2020 gave people a chance to inspect superyachts, spurring activity. Greg Gheraia director of BLACKORANGE SuperYacht Experts says that the lockdowns "really made us think about life and spending more time with loved ones. If you were thinking about buying a super yacht before the pandemic then in 2020 you were buying a superyacht.” Most clients were simply looking for some freedom after various lockdowns. Having more time on their hands was also a contributing factor to the sales surge. Il tempo corre con noi e noi proviamo a superarlo. Vogliamo essere all’imbocco di Gibilterra entro lunedì sera per capire il da farsi e per evitare la sventagliata che torna a soffiare da nord. Allora vela e motore, motore e vela. Ogni tanto si alza il vento e riduciamo motore, senza mai riuscire a spegnerlo. Teniamo una media di 7 nodi a 40 gradi con il vento. Chiacchiere, silenzi, riposo e lampughe insaporiscono questa veleggiata e ci portano miglio dopo miglio sempre più vicini a casa.

Schön, dass du hier bist! Wir, Emely und Tjark, haben uns den Traum vom eigenen Segelboot erfüllt, eine Maxi84, relativ spontan und ohne das ganz große Geld. Das Boot müssen wir noch umtaufen auf den Namen Meera. Wir nehmen dich mit auf unsere Reise von blutigen Anfängern zu hoffentlich passablen Seglern. Bevor wir uns in die Wellen stürzen können, liegt noch ein Berg an Arbeit vor uns. Umbauten, Änderungen und vor allem der Sportbootführerschein müssen erledigt werden.
