Au départ de Nuuk, la capitale, l’équipage va caboter plus de 1 000 milles pendant deux mois vers le nord, de village en village. « Nous avons pris possession de notre embarcation à Isafjordur en Islande. Nous nous sommes décidés en quelques instants ; ensuite, pendant un long week-end, nous avons commencé à préparer le bateau. Nous avons notamment consolidé les coques en y ajoutant des semelles car les fonds seront extrêmement sollicités chaque jour lors des accostages. Depuis, le bateau a navigué vers Nuuk seul … en kit et en container. La particularité de cette expédition est que nous naviguerons sur un catamaran de sport de 5,50 m seulement. Ce petit multicoque nous offre l’agilité et le contact avec les éléments que nous recherchons. The chambers fill fast, the current pulls hard, and keeping the lines tight is real work. Don’t skip arm day 😉 🧑‍✈️ You need to know how to steer in currents. Between the water rushing in and the 300-meter cargo ship powering up in front of you, your rudder needs a steady hand.
