Маленький вулканический остров Лобос лежит в 2 км от Фуэртевентуры и в 8 км от Лансароте. Изюминка острова - белоснежное дно и отсутствие океанской волны, привлекающее чартерные катамараны с сапами и каяками на борту. А ещё на Лобосе очень много рыбы, каждое утро рыбацкие катера выстраиваются шеренгой и таскают карасей и окуней одного за другим. Доминантой острова выступает вулкан, половина которого давно обвалилась в море, и остался только бортик высотой 120 м.

David Payne of the Australian National Maritime Museum gives us a little inspiration for the Australian Sailing Hall of Fame with a look at Barrenjoey, the 5.5M yacht which was sailed to Olympic glory in 1964. Grandfather Bill Northam and crew Peter “Pod” O’Donnell and James Sergeant, won Australia’s first Olympic sailing Gold medal in Tokyo in this beautiful boat which was designed in the US but built in Australia. I’ve spent the last two days tucked into Osaka, racing to finish the 4th draft of my new book — and somehow, miraculously, I wrapped it early ahead of a November 15th deadline. To celebrate, I wandered to a quiet corner of Dotonbori and found an outdoor café by the canal. As I settled in, a boat drifted past… carrying a live jazz band. New Orleans, floating through Japan.
