To avoid terrible sailing conditions, we made the bold choice to cross the notorious Sulu Sea from Malaysia to Palawan, stopping overnight on an island deep in the red zone!? Known for pirate activity and unpredictable weather, this quickly became one of our most intense and nerve-wracking passages yet. Went to go for a swim. Just before jumping in, Nellie showed up. She's very patient. Normally Nurse sharks are relatively gentle. But in The Bahamas they often feed them for the tourists. So some Nurse sharks now associate humans with food, making them much more unpredictable. Still wanna swim? lol
