The hulls of Tiwal have been tried and successfully tested under a wide variety of (severe) operating conditions. The hulls are notably made more resistant by an overlay of yellow PVC. I yam what I yam… The actual Popeye film set where Robin Williams and Shelley Duvall portrayed Popeye and Olive Oil in the film from 1980! It wasn’t possible to anchor in the same bay, so we stayed the night in the next bay over and dinghied to the village in the morning. We had a bit of fun on the Saturday 3rd November for the third race of the Gold Cup Series hosted by Royal Akarana Yacht Club. Great to see so many boats braving the breeze and chilly conditions to take on the 44 mile race!

As we expected during our Winter stay in Turkey, there would be storms. We are currently sailing our way South to see as much of the coast as possible. Stopping at a place called Kakova Road we have found a bay to anchor tight for the next 3 days due to a nasty frontal system making its way around the area. Rain, Thunder storms and winds to 35knts (65km/h) . Life on board can be quite uncomfortable in these conditions with rolling swells rocking the yacht side to side causing endless bangs and crashes of lines and equipment being thrown about not to mention the howling sounds the rigging makes in even moderate winds.
