A midnight departure, glassy seas, and a solo crossing from Italy to Greece. Everything was smooth, with no surprises? until I saw something strange in the water. In this video, I make the crossing from Otranto to Othonoi on my electric boat. With no wind and silky calm seas, it turns out to be a really easy trip, in spite of having clouds blocking the sun the whole day. Somewhere along the way, I spot something in the water, a long shape that surfaced and disappeared quickly. It looked? like the Loch Ness Monster had taken a vacation to the Med.? Was it a sea creature? A log? A rogue submarine? You tell me. Drop your theories in the comments! Thanks for sailing along with me. #SoloSailing #ElectricBoat #MediterraneanCrossing #LochNess #Othonoi #SailingToGreece

Real sailing isn't always thrilling - sometimes it's slow, quiet, and just passing the miles. But the destination makes all the difference. In this video, I take my electric boat from Monopoli to Otranto, spending a few days sailing calm, uneventful passages along the Italian coast with questionable anchorages. The trip has long days, but it's easy going, with some small, harmless mistakes that are part of the journey. But then I arrive at Otranto, my favorite stop ever! An absolutely stunning place with crystal-clear water and breathtaking views. It's the kind of destination that makes all those slow days at sea completely worth it. If you want to see the real side of cruising, the peaceful moments, the patience, and the beautiful rewards, this one's for you. Thanks for watching and joining me on this journey! #SailingLife #ElectricBoat #Otranto #SlowTravel #ItalianCoast #boatlife #liveaboard #electricsailboat

After crossing from Croatia to Italy, I continue south from Bari to Monopoli, hugging the Italian coastline and anchoring in rather exposed spots along the way. It's not exactly comfortable, but the real trouble doesn't start until I hit a monstrous headwind with big, steep waves that slam into my electric boat. I eventually make it to Monopoli, but because I'm only allowed to stay one night at the public dock, I need to find a proper marina. That's when things go from bad to worse... #electricsailboat #boatlife #liveaboard #boatcrash

Motor sailing from Vieste to Bari, I put my solar-powered electric catamaran to the test, combining wind and sun for an incredible sailing experience. Unlike traditional sailboats, an electric boat enhances motor sailing by seamlessly blending propulsion and wind power-leading to smoother, faster, and more efficient travel. On this journey, I demonstrate how electric propulsion transforms the sailing experience, allowing me to harness natural energy while maintaining speed and performance. Whether you're a sailing enthusiast or curious about the future of sustainable boating, this video will show why electric boats truly are the ultimate motor sailors! #electricsailboat #boatlife #liveaboard #sailing

We cross the Adriatic Sea from Croatia to Italy in our solar-powered yacht, at night! This is our very first overnight passage, and it's a big one: 76 nautical miles across open sea, running purely on sunlight stored in our batteries. No diesel and barely any wind, just the quiet splashing if water past the electric motors and the stars above. Join us as we leave Vela Luka, Croatia, and make our way across the Adriatic sea to Italy. Along the way, we test our boat, our nerves, and our ability to function in very little sleep! This episode marks a huge milestone in our journey, proving that long-distance, fuel-free cruising is not only possible - it's magical. #electricsailboat #liveaboard #boatlife #boatdog

We set off from Pu?i??a to Vela Luka on a 32 nautical mile journey-our last stop in Croatia before the big night crossing to Italy. What should have been a calm preparation day turned into a test of nerves and equipment. Near a quiet bay, the wind suddenly picked up-blowing 30 knots and gusting to 40. I had to use Dyneema line to reinforce the solar panel mounts and protect the system that powers our entire boat. It was rough, loud, and totally unexpected. This video also includes our first test of noise-cancelling tech to reduce the sound of the autopilot-something you've asked for in the comments! Big thanks for the feedback. As we prepare to leave Croatia behind, this episode shows how quickly conditions can change-and what it really means to sail off-grid exclusively on solar power. In this video, nature provides everything we need. Cruising silently across Croatia on solar power, arriving in Loviste with full batteries. As thunderstorms roll in, we collect enough rainwater for a long shower and I still have full water tanks when done. Then westumble across a strawberry tree (not the same as the strawberries you know!) just another delicious gift from this off-grid lifestyle. From friendly deer to dodging storms and living off the elements, this is slow, sustainable sailing at its best. #electricsailboat #liveaboard #boatlife

This was supposed to be a simple trip-sailing back and forth around Split to drop Candice at the airport and pick her up again. With strong winds in the forecast, we had planned to stay mostly in safe bays, unfortunately getting there meant fighting onto strong headwinds, how would my electric setup hold up against that In Vinisce, I climbed the highest hill and thought I could see a mountain top in Italy across the Adriatic. But that wasn't the only surprise... we came upon a strange object floating in the water? it looked like naval mine, but surely not?! Any guesses on what this thing could be? Let me know in the comments! #boatlife #liveaboard #electricsailboat Flag picture from https://www.crossed-flag-pins.com/

I had to leave the island to pick up Candice from the mainland, but the weather had other plans. The morning I was set to go, a powerful 40 knot Bora was raging. I waited for it to calm down, but as soon as I set sail, the wind came roaring back, and now I had too much sail up. What happened next? Well I accidentally set a new speed record for my electric boat! And that wasn't the end of the challenge. After the high-speed ride, the wind shifted right on the nose, turning the rest of the journey into a slow, exhausting slog. I finally arrived just after sunset for some more fun, anchoring in 25 knots of wind! #electricsailboat #liveaboard #boatlife

Join us on a long, easy sail to Pucisca, a breathtaking town built entirely of stone. Nestled on the island of Bra?, this hidden gem is famous for its white limestone and old-world charm. Along the way, I catch Candice dancing for the dogs, and later stumble upon an unexpected discovery, a simple, powerless way to make water that could mean long showers, at least sometimes! #electricsailboat #liveaboard #sailing

Nightmares only come at night. When two major thunderstorms combine you end up with a super storm, and at midnight it hit us hard. With a peak of 47 knots and 2 meter waves pushing us back into the rocks we thought we wouldn't make it, but the anchor was holding for now. Unfortunately for 3 boats in our anchorage their anchors didn't hold, and when they tried to leave the bay the real chaos started... #electricsailboat #liveaboard #classicboat

I'm this video I leave Murter, stop in Vinisce for a night before heading to Split airport to fetch Candice from a flight. On the way I run into Santa Clause's yacht, and work out exactly how far I could motor every day, when traveling non-stop only using solar power. Leaving Murter aiming for Sibenik, but plans have to change when the anchorages just aren't suitable. The wind picks up on the way to a backup anchorage, and we got a new speed record! And then we arrive at the great wall! #electricsailboat #liveaboard #sailing

Charter boats overtake me all the time, but they have unlimited fuel budgets, and don't care about breaking things. So how does my electric boat compare to a normal cruising sailboat? In this 20 nautical mile passage I find out... #boatlife #liveaboard #electricsailboat
