A celebration. A family reunited. "Bold at sea. Y juntos en la pasión." But last night was much more: a moment to celebrate and share our new identity. Among smiles, hugs, and dancing, we saw the essence of Southern Wind come to life. Three words that capture our philosophy, our spirit, and our community: The Perfect Balance. A toast to everyone who made this possible, and a special thanks to our valued partners.
A new chapter in luxury sailing. The Perfect Balance. Where performance meets comfort. Where innovation blends with tradition. Where passion is shaped with precision. Last night’s Southern Wind Family Dinner at Ibiza JoySail 2025 was the perfect occasion to celebrate this milestone together with our close-knit community of like-minded sailors. Every voyage with Southern Wind is more than a journey. It is a tailored yachting experience, crafted with heritage, guided by passion, and shared with the joy of sailing.
While all those who had the pleasure to participate in the 19th Southern Wind Rendezvous & Trophy, held within the Giorgio Armani Superyacht Regatta and hosted by the Yacht Club Costa Smeralda, still cherish the memories, it is time to sincerely thank everyone who contributed and participated.

It's true, the wind wasn’t there. But what we had was the desire to be together, to enjoy every sunray, every inch of the deck. A quieter day on the water, yet still filled with precision, ended with a Sunset Beach Party at Lunaria Beach, Baia Sardinia. With glasses of wine, a sunset on the beach, and dancing, we celebrated the amazing days we've had so far, relishing the camaraderie, the excitement of the race, and the unforgettable moments shared on and off the water. And now, the course has been revealed - ready for Day 4! Fair winds to all!
Day 2: Who says a windless day can't be thrilling? A gentle Maestrale breeze set the tone for today’s race, turning the 23-mile course into a true test of concentration and strategy. With the wind marking its rhythm, every maneuver became crucial to stay on course and make the most of the conditions. A quieter day on the water, but still filled with precision, relaxation, and Southern Wind spirit. The perfect mix of competition and the pure joy of sailing. And now, ready for Day 3!
What a day it was!!! The Weather Gods blessed us from sunrise to sunset with an evening that couldn’t have been better. A soft sunset light illuminated the rugged, warm-colored rocky hills of Sardinia as owners and teams eagerly arrived at the village of San Pantaleo and streamed into the carefully prepared Giagoni in Piazza Restaurant, exclusively decorated for an evening celebrating the day at sea just ended and the reunion of old Southern Wind faces and new friends.
The first day – Registration Day – is over! Under a clear sky and strong winds over 30 knots, twelve Southern Wind yachts arrived in Porto Cervo, welcomed with smiles, hugs, and gifts from our sponsors. After challenging crossings and final preparations, crews and owners gathered once again for this event that has brought us together for 18 years. Last night concluded with the first Skipper’s briefing, followed by the welcome cocktail, marking the official start of the event. Now everyone is ready for the first day of racing. Fair winds to all for these coming unforgettable days of competition, friendship, and adventure!

Southern Wind CEO Marco Alberti explains: “Hull #1 of the SW108 project proved its excellence by winning the St. Barths Bucket Regatta and being awarded ‘Best Yacht” at the ISS Awards. True to our Smart Custom philosophy, Kiboko 4, the second unit of this project, stands apart with her own personality, much like the three previous yachts the owner commissioned from us. Our design priorities for Kiboko 4 focused on weight optimization, performance, and aesthetics while maintaining the light, airy Mediterranean ambiance of her interiors". Southern Wind began crafting infused carbon composite yachts with the first 100ft hull in 2004, and all the experience gained in 20 years of mastering this lamination technique has now been brought to bear in the construction of the new SW100X. Our unique female moulds are usually constructed from plywood and carefully assembled by hand, using precise measurements for perfect accuracy. We then coat these moulds with glass fabric and epoxy resin to ensure they are perfectly sealed and ready for the infusion process. This special finish not only seals the mould, but also gives the final product a beautiful, smooth surface. Thanks to this meticulous process, our yachts are incredibly accurate and match the original design perfectly. It's a win-win situation for both Southern Wind and our valued customers.
Southern Wind has been perfecting the art of building carbon composite yachts since 2000, pioneering advanced lamination techniques that set us apart. Our innovative "3-shot infusion process" ensures that every yacht we build is exceptionally rigid, reliable and light. This process is repeated three times: on both sides of the hull and on the bottom of the hull, ensuring an optimum ratio of resin to fibre throughout the hull. We start by laminating the outer skin to the mould. Once the outer laminate has cured, we carefully place foam core sheets, making sure there are no gaps. These sheets are then bonded together with a special epoxy adhesive called 'Core Bond'. This step is critical to maintaining the integrity of the structure. Once the Core Bond has cured, we prepare the foam surface and laminate the inner skin onto the foam. This final layer locks everything in place, resulting in perfectly aligned fibres and a well-positioned core. The result? A yacht that's incredibly light yet remarkably strong, the perfect balance of performance and durability. Enjoy the process as seen in the lamination of our latest creation, the SW100X, now under construction.
SW100X Garage is configured for launching/storing of 4.35m dinghy or a small utility vehicle or other voluminous toys. Tender is launched and retrieved with a removable davit and lazarette spaces are accessible via a centerline hatch. This innovative solution makes better usage of the aft deck and quickly folds away to retain the sporty lines of a performance sailing yacht. The system consists of twin rotary ultra-lightweight electric actuators (brushless) with an approximate power of 2kW @220VAC. The use of brushless electric motors ensures higher efficiency and lower maintenance. This system grants full redundancy owing to the twin motors and the possibility to disengage the motors to operate the system manually by means of an emergency crank handle.
