This video takes us back to January of 2024 and shows just a piece of what life in Georgetown on a sailboat is like. Sherine and I spent our birthdays there this year and there's many great restaurants we found worth of our celebration. We had the goal to make it down to the Ragged Islands but, unfortunately, the weather systems were frequent and not spaced out enough. We learned that there's little refuge from W and NW winds should a storm come. Furthermore, we also heard that the Ragged Islands were very crowded with too many boats jockeying for two few anchorages....maybe this years. So, we ended up spending a bunch of time in Georgetown and ultimately used it as a "jumping off" point for several of our visitors. We did find the time to take a trip to Long Island between storms and we're so glad we did. Long Island is quiet and a bit sleepy but it has a ton of stuff to do and go see. We saw the Columbus Monument, a Blue Hole and the largest sharks I've seen to date in the Bahamas. Long Island has great provisioning and, in fact, we were able to find some items there which were out of stock in Georgetown. Check it out. 00:00 Introduction 00:56 Mike's Birthday 01:55 Our Daewoo Mini is Complaining! 03:07 Cockpit Fan Installation 10:29 Sailing to dump the holding tanks 11:53 Goat Cay - The beginning of Sherine's birthday! 15:14 Moving to Man-o-War Cay 17:22 Sailing to Long Island 19:36 First Day of Exploring Long Island! 20:13 The Blue Hole 22:46 Columbus Monument

It was finally time to head off our of Staniel Cay to make our way down to the killer cruiser destination of Georgetown, Exama. But we're in no hurry and we wanted to stop by a couple of anchorages we missed last year as well as Lee Stocking, Island. After provisioning at 4 (yes 4) grocery stores in Staniel Cay, we head off. We finally are able to snorkel the piano playing mermaid which, we've read, was hid underwater by David Copperfield. The exploration in this episode brings me back to my childhood. The Bahamas is truly a cruisers playground that will bring out the kid in all of us. Once we get to Georgetown, we needed to top off our tanks. 35 gallons of diesel and a trip to the Shell fuel dock and we're all topped off. It's a ton of work but I wouldn't trade it for anything. We finally get our first exposure to the awesome cruising community, daily meet ups at Chat and Chill and Volleyball. Tons of fun. We now know why some cruisers say Georgetown is the velcro anchorage of the Bahamas. 00:00 We need a bigger boat! 02:24 Time to shop! 03:33 And away we go 06:32 Huge Sand Bar 07:32 Submerged Piano Player 08:59 Exploring Lee Stocking Island 11:25 Our last day at the Beach on Lee Stocking 11:59 Refilling at Georgetown 13:31 Onwards to the Chat and Chill 14:24 Emptying our Holding Tanks Episode 27

We explore the very beautiful Warderick Wells, snorkel Emerald Rock the Aquarium, Rocky Dundas, Thunderball Grotto and several plane wrecks. It was an action packed visit with our son, Sam, but he had to get back to school. We had to get to Staniel Cay so that he could fly out. The Land and Sea Park in the Exumas is truly special. There's always something to do and see. Can't wait to get back again. 00:00 Introduction 00:24 Emerald Rock 01:29 Shark! 03:45 Boo Boo Hill 07:28 O'Briens Cay 08:52 Sea Turtle @ The Aquarium 10:18 Rocky Dundas 12:13 Thunderball Grotto 13:25 Swimming Pigs & Big Majors (Staniel Cay) 13:48 Fresh Conch Salad! 14:55 Staniel Cay Airport (Goodbye Sam!) After leaving our boat for a week or so at Palm Cay marina and flying back to the states for Christmas celebrations, we returned and departed for Allen Cay! Allen Cay is one of the northernmost Cays of the Exuma chain. Allen Cay, and some of the neighboring Cays, have a population of iguanas that, I believe, are not found anywhere else in the world. That said, they are very fun to watch and cruisers often bring apples, grapes and lettuce to feed them. They are protected by the Bahamian Government. After Allen Cay, we moved down to Hawks Next Cay to anchor overnight. Unfortunately, we didn't really pay close enough attention to the weather and the wind forecasts and had a night of very poor sleep. Over from Hawks Next Cay, we went over to Normans Cay for a great dinner at McDuffs then over to Shroud Cay after a couple of days to visit two of our favorite beaches and the very peaceful and tranquil mangroves. We end to episode at Maverick Wells, the Crown Jewel of the Exumas. Check out how we do our laundry and watch a mishap flying our Oxley Levante Parasail. #boat #cruising #cruisinglife #sailingwhileone #whileone #catamarans #boat #catamaransailing #catamaranlife 00:00 Introduction 00:23 Raising the Oxley Levante Parasail 03:58 Sailing to Allen Cay 05:51 Hawks Next Cay 07:28 Sailing to Normans Cay 10:28 New Years at Shroud Cay! 12:45 On to Maverick Wells 13:49 Catching a Mooring Ball

After spending three weeks in Key West, it was time to start making our way to Bimini and onward to Great Harbour Cay (GHC), Bahamas. We had some great sailing this year thus far, mostly due to the fact that we were not working full time and could choose our weather windows. Outside of getting around Cape Hatteras, we use very little fuel. It's so relaxing when it all comes together and we're able to turn off the motors and just listen to the wind and waves. It was good to be back in the Bahamas! In this Episode, we sail from Key Biscayne down to Key West. We stop at Rodriguez Key and also Marathon, each for a night. We had some great sailing most of the way down. We encountered a problem trying to sock our Oxley Levante Parasail. It was definitely a learning experience. Then, we got held up from making our way to Garrison Bight to grab an anchor ball due to Offshore World Championships. We've never seen boat racing before...it was quite amazing. Key West was awesome. We spent about 3 weeks, in total, exploring Key West. We visit Sloppy Joes, the Green Parrot, Earnest Hemingway's house and Papa Pilar's distillery, to name a few spots. We saw the Garcia Project at The Key West Theater...super cool. I also walk through the rigging of our Parasail.
