We kick things off with pure adrenaline as we sandboard and quad bike down the massive Dune 7, one of the tallest dunes in the region. Next, we visit Namibia’s famous Walvis Bay Pink Lake, a surreal bright-pink lagoon that looks like something from another planet. From there we head to the charming coastal town of Swakopmund for more exploration along Namibia’s rugged Skeleton Coast. But the real star of the episode? We were welcomed with open arms by the incredibly friendly Zululand Yacht Club, quickly feeling at home in the South African boat life. Our 28hrs ashore couldn’t have been better: a traditional South African braai, shared with fellow cruisers, travel stories, and the kind of community that makes sailing and travel so special. Just as we were settling in, things took an unexpected turn… we were asked to leave the marina, cutting our stay short and adding tension to our adventure. With little time to plan, we set sail for Durban in the dark, raising the question many sailors and travelers ask: Is South Africa really dangerous?
