We find a beautiful waterfall in the Seychelles which is perfect for bikinis and cooling off. We sailed to the west side of Mahe Island in our Lagoon 52 Catamaran where we took a 30 minute hike into the jungle to find the waterfall. Geraldine returns to Sailing Doodles!

In this video we start out showing the systems which control the mainsail. We take down the main, and also show the emergency procedures if the outhaul, or furler motors fail. We left Vanuatu with a little concern about safety in Papua New Guinea as many government websites warned about unsafe conditions. We also considered going via Australia, but that did not make much sense.
When we arrived we were pleasantly surprised with Port Moresby city skyline and nice Royal Papua Yacht Club. Our main goal was to get Indonesian Visa here as in a week starts our Indonesian Rally. Meanwhile we explored surroundings – Ela Beach, Nature Park, Papua New Guinea Museum and Port Moresby as well. Everyone was very nice with us and happy to assist although every shop had a lot of security and while having dinner with local sailors in a yacht Club we heard many sketchy stories that it is indeed dangerous.
We got visa quickly and we were ready to leave but as soon as we left Royal Papua Yacht Club we’ve got hit by 30+ knots of wind right against us! Not the best start for our second longest – 1,500NM / 9 day sail to Indonesia, Timur Island… Join us!

After a challenging period, both offline and emotionally, and having to remove our last two episodes (ep#32 + ep#33) due to the delicate phase of our boat repair, we’re happy to be back online and sharing with you again. It’s been a tough journey, but we’re hopeful that we’ve found a way to keep you updated with our story.

Today marks 387 days on the hardstand in Trinidad. Our "new" Leopard 45 catamaran continues it's warranty journey that has spread across 3 continents and almost 3 years.

We explain some of the recent developments, briefly show a few of the warranty issues we've been fixing ourselves and let you know some of the other things going on behind the scenes, for example the impact the ongoing warranty process has had on finances and a shout out to people who don't mind being named who have helped us on this journey.

There is now less than 2 months left until the hurricane season, meaning we have all but missed the Caribbean cruising season for the second time. :'(

We include a little advice which may be relevant anyone dealing with handover on any new boat like Lagoon, Fountaine Pajot and Seawind

While in Sardinia I found out that my relatives and my girlfriends will be visiting Monaco / South of France and we made a decision to move fast to meet.
But we knew one - we could not skip Bonifacio - the very southern tip of Corsica, as according to our countless friends and sailors - it’s a must.
Luckily it’s the beginning of September and the peak time is winding down, so we get a marina slip - but I would not advise going there in a busy season without reservations.
Whilst here I noticed the Lithuanian flag - a national flagship sailboat that represents Lithuania in races - Ambersail 2.
After a very enjoyable visit in Bonifacio, Corsica we set sail again - next stop - 170 NM away - MONACO!
And we get to bring our Aquarius to the main marina in Monaco - we did not expect we would have such an opportunity - but it all worked out - I got to meet my family and my friends - so nice…

Travel Sketch is the story of three friends who have the desire to travel, experience new things and enjoy life to the fullest. After years of traveling the globe together we've turned a life long dream into our reality - exploring the world aboard our Leopard 45 catamaran! ⛵

The trip that we were so excited about was coming up fast and we were looking forward to it so much! Then couple days before taking off I find out that Lithuanian citizens require a visa which is a lengthy process and we decide to take off and go to Dar es Salaam, South African embassy and see if we can find a solution. We take 8 hour bus ride and admire the countryside.
Dar es Salaam being the biggest city in Tanzania - pretty fascinating and we find some really cool places and meet absolutely phenomenal people.
But do we get to go to South Africa?
I guess you will have to watch the video to find that out.

PS biggest apologies for poor sound we were really struggling finding a nice quiet place where we can film and share with you. Unfortunately that wasn't so easy I hope you will forgive us.

Episode 353 : Season 11 : The South Island of New Zealand - Aotearoa

Hello Friends,
On this episode we explore Waihinua Bay and wait out some bad weather, wake up with flat batteries (due to too much tea being boiled during said bad weather) and find ourselves motoring through 50+ knot gusts as we make our way to Kenepuru Sound to ride out even more rough weather.

This was only our 3rd day on the boat together and we worked like a well oil machine tackling the challenges which included the dinghy flipping over not once but twice. Rhonda was such a good sport about all the rough weather, being Kiwi she is well use to this kind of extreme weather.
