Wines of Croatia

Croatian wine has a long history, actually dating back to the first Greek settlers in coastal areas of Croatia. The wine has especially long and valued traditions on islands like Vis, Hvar and Korcula, where the culture of wine exist for 2500 years by now. The majority of wines produced in Croatia is white and the residents of wine regions, especially in Dalmatia, prefer drinking a combination of white wine and either still or sparkling water.
