We Mounted Cummins 6.7s in Detroit 12v71-Sized Holes!

After more than a year of planning, building, and prep-this is the moment we've been working toward. In this episode, we finally mount our Cummins 6.7 truck engines into the engine room of our 78' aluminum yacht, Tangaroa. But dropping them into holes left behind by two massive Detroit Diesel 12V71s wasn't simple. The Cummins are much smaller, which meant Blaine had to custom design and fabricate brand-new engine mounts that would handle the torque, align with the shafts, and give us a rock-solid setup for the long haul. This isn't your average engine swap. From measuring to welding, fitting to bolting-everything had to be just right. If you've been following our repower series, you know this is a huge step forward. And if you're just joining us, you're jumping in right as the fun begins. Whether you're a diesel enthusiast, a fellow boater, or just someone who enjoys watching big projects come together, you'll want to see this one. #CumminsSwap #DetroitDiesel #BoatRefit ?
