So we are in the process of purchasing land so we can build our own DIY mountain homestead. Two weeks ago we put in an offer on this two and a half acre piece of land near the smoky mountains in North Carolina. We've got a couple of weeks before we close on this property, so we're now doing our due diligence, which basically means doing all the research to make sure that buying this property really is a good idea.
