We offer opportunities for people who are sailors or non-sailors to go sailing around the beautiful Chesapeake Bay. We make those charter get-aways really easy for the client. They’ll come in on a Friday night, spend the night, enjoy themselves, and then the next morning they’re up and off the docks on their way to St. Michaels, Rock Hall, Galesville - wherever it may be - the destination of their choice. One of my favorite places is St. Michaels. It’s a great place to go to from Annapolis. They have cafes, art studios, the Maritime Museum. It’s a wonderful lovely place to go. Waypoints Annapolis offers the experienced sailors an opportunity to take advantage and really hone on their skills and enjoy life. They can come to the base, they can charter a boat - whether it’s a monohull or a catamaran or even a powerboat. They can take it out on a Bay and they can go by themselves or hire a skipper so they can just enjoy themselves. Many of our charter customers started out with some of the big charter companies and had that more commercialized experience and now they’re looking for a more personal level of service - working with people who become friends for life. These people come back every year and really develop a personal relationship that goes on for years. I think that makes a difference. I think people are looking for more of those types of experiences with Waypoints versus the more impersonal experience you may get with a big commercialized operation.
